Mary Jo Burfeind has more than 15 years of experience in organizational and individual learning & development. Mary Jo is a Vice-President at Health Care Service Corporation, a mutual reserve company doing business as Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas, Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Mexico and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Oklahoma. Mary Jo leads the Learning & Talent functions of the Internal Operations divisions, including the Subscriber Services Division and the Information Technology Group. Formerly, Mary Jo was a Senior Manager of Education Design and Delivery with Allstate Insurance, a Chief Learning Officer for a Midwest healthcare system, and the owner of an independent performance consulting firm.
Mary Jo is a graduate of Governors State University, University Park, IL with a B.A. in English and an M.A. in Human Performance and Training. She is ABD in Adult Education at Northern Illinois University with a concentration in human resources and organizational development. Mary Jo is also a former board member of the Society of Insurance Trainers and Educators.
